I was approached by Jeff Nelson in Dec. 2003. At that time he told
me that he had a short time left to live. He asked if he could use the
image of the All Saints Chapel that I had previously painted for his
memorial. Without hesitation I replied, "No Jeff, you get an original."
Little did I know the impact of my decision.
My own life was in much turmoil at that time. The painting was
completed in the hospital while I was at the bedside of my 2 year old son
who was very ill.
Do you wonder if God ever sends angels?
Here was a man who was dying, who entered my life, who reminded me
that life is to be celebrated...every moment, to be celebrated.
LOVING WHO YOU ARE IS A POWERFUL
CURE.
This painting was created to honor Jeff's celebration of life. Jeff
passed away in the spring of 2004. I like to think that only his body is
gone, and his spirit of life lives in all of those who knew him.
